Having visited the Old Bell recently on a family visit I was disappointed to find standards have slipped since an earlier meal about 12 months ago in which the food was fairly good, nothing gourmet but it's chain pub so you don't expect it. However, a visit last week served me dry hard peas and chips that tasted like overdone oven type, the only saving grace was the scampi which wasn't bad, the rest of our table found the same.
The Pub is overall family friendly and has a nice atmosphere and friendly staff, it's let down by the poor food and dirty toilets.
