Great rink, worth a visit

This rink is very convenient to access from the inner ring, and is next to Ikea so you can grab a cheap hotdog whilst you're there!
Parking is either a multistory to the rear, or Moat Street Pay and Display.
The ice in Coventry is rather hard (good for hockey) and the rink is not the most plush facility, but it is fairly good value. The figure skating folks (ISS) are very friendly and the rink is full size. Don't leave anything behind - nothing seems to ever end up held in lost property.
The cinema is to the rear as well so you can make a trip of it!

Good value supermarket, tight parking
This is a well stocked and sensibly sized local supermarket in Kibworth and is reasonably good value (its not Sainsburys!)
The discount shelf is in the far corner of the store and you should go there first as quite a lot of the items that I buy at lunchtime are reduced there!
Parking is a bit tight - better to park on the road if one of the nearby spaces are free as this will safe you a door dent.
There is a cash machine outside on the wall facing the high street.

Good rink. Parking available

This is a no-nonsense ice rink in a central location. There is a reasonable amount of parking here and the ice is decent quality and full size.

Great facility with good ice
There are two full size ice pads here.
Both are really good quality surface (it's all demineralized apparently whatever difference that makes) although you do pay for it.
The "academy" produces skaters of a very good standard although they do expect your kids to attend a lot of sessions.
Definitely a place to recommend whether you're public skating or taking lessons.

Good facility - recommended.

This is a full size ice rink with easy parking, a friendly atmosphere and good facilities.
The quality of ice skating from the local club is excellent and the competitions they hold are enjoyed by kids from all around the country.
Unhygenic but full size ice

Oh dear oh dear.
This ice rink is a full size rink with figure skating clubs etc, but the steps to get up their smell of urine and the ceiling has enough mildew on it to kill half the population of Bristol.

Best Italian in Leeds
This is an old favourite.
The food is excellent and you can see it cooked.
Atmosphere is busy but friendly, tables and toilets are clean and smart.
But don't tell them its your other halfs birthday unless you want the staff to kiss them!

Wilcos is cheap and cheerful
You either love them or hate them I suppose.
Wilkinson in Melton is good value, if you need an ironing board cover or something.
The Melton branch is central and not as busy as some of those in Nottingham and Leicester.

Pricey old store

Oh dear. Not busy, but certainly not cheap.
This must be one of their older stores.

Cheap and cheerful

Cheaper houses I suppose although if you're going to sell a house this could be a bad point!
Wide delivery. Decent food
These people deliver to villages for miles around (and nobody else does).
Considering that they do everything - pizza, kebabs, pasta, indian I think it is quite surprising that the food is actually of decent quality.
We love their pizzas, but it is perfectly OK to order a pizza and a curry for example.
Delivery times are not quick in the villages though so don't choose here if you're already hungry.

Good value. Better if you don't drive

Probably the cheapest supermarket in Melton (but not a lot of competition).
The biggest problem is the parking which is OK if you don't mind having your car doors knocked.

Easy access and sensible food
I like Co-op generally and this store is big for a Co-op in the midlands but not enough stock to rival Tesco and Morrisons.
For some reason they have different loyalty cards to some of the Co-ops in nearby towns/villages
Expensive but you know what you get
This supermarket has something of a dominance on Melton's shoppers as Morrison's is more central with more awkward parking and there isn't really anything else (are you listening Aldi/Lidl?)
Obviously Tesco isn't the cheapest and one annoyance of mine is that the fuel at their garage is often more expensive than in nearby villages! Clearly there isn't enough competition.

Average takeaway but good value
I got a takeaway from this restaurant this week. The food was pretty normal for a takeaway but the portions were of a decent size and I would say it was good value for money.
I don't think I would eat in the restaurant - there are smarter places near the station bridge.

Smart and polite

This restaurant is quite popular in Melton. I reckon its a bit pricey for what you get and prefer the food from Tandoori Knights over the road though.
A nice presentable restaurant with a good feeling to it. Staff are polite.

Best Indian in Melton
This is the best Indian in Melton Mowbray. You can eat in or get take-away. There is parking nearby as its near the station bridge, and there is normally room to turn up unless you pick a busy night.
Decor is nothing to write home about but then it is an Indian! Staff always polite here.

Clean and good food, but patronizing

Nice food here, although some might argue the curry's are not as hot as the company name would imply!
Good decor - feels nice and modern, staff a little patronizing though.

Average McDonalds
It's much the same as most UK McDonalds. A little small. I wouldn't try ordering anything too complicated though!
Tips:
1. Order fruit for the kids instead of fries - they'll get it wrong and you'll get free fries.
2. If you order a delicatessen item make sure you specify exactly what you want in it and then check it before you leave the counter so you don't have to come back again.

Great pizza!
La Pizza Pasta make great pizza. They sometimes have deals including garlic bread & coke etc. My favourite is the Spicy Tandoori Chicken pizza which tastes great!
Only negative is that they don't delivery to a very wide radius.
